Cancellations are particularly hard when you don’t have any coverage – this is why we require trip insurance on all retreats to protect you and our company from unforeseen situations. There are many different types of trip insurance. Below is an overview and some tips.

BASIC TRIP INSURANCE
Basic trip insurance covers many important things such as cancellations for covered reasons, medical and trip delays. Depending on your credit card, you may also have trip insurance benefits as part of your cardholder status.
CANCEL FOR ANY REASON/CANCEL FOR WORK INSURANCE
The highest level of protection is achieved by adding “cancel for any reason” or “cancel for work” coverage to your trip insurance. With basic insurance you need to ensure you are cancelling due to one of their qualified reasons (e.g. cancel or interrupt your trip due to an illness, injury, or death of you, a family member, traveling companion or business partner or other covered reasons).
With cancel for any reason the insurance company can reimburse ~50-75% of non-refundable expenses if you cancel your trip for any reason, usually up to 48 hours prior to your departure. That can be a lifesaver! Every policy and plan is different, so be sure to read the fine print.
PRESIDE MEDITATION RETREATS TERMS
Given the small size and focused nature of our events, Preside Meditation retreats are non-refundable for any reason, after you submit your payment. This is why we require you to purchase trip insurance after you make your payment, to protect your investment and the operational integrity of the retreat event for all involved.
The bottom line:
You are required to purchase trip insurance after you register and pay for a Preside Retreat, and we strongly recommend adding the “cancel for any reason” level of coverage.
