Something good is here, or close enough that you can feel it. And instead of resting in that, you are monitoring it. The tradition conventionally reads Fehu as wealth, abundance, new beginnings — and as a picture of a person in love, what it shows is a part of you that has something in its hands and is already rehearsing the loss of it. Not because you are pessimistic. Because somewhere along the way, having something good started to feel like the most dangerous position you could be in.

What This Rune Actually Feels Like

It feels like happiness with a low hum of vigilance underneath it. The relationship is real, or the possibility is real, and you want it — fully, cleanly — but the wanting comes packaged with a second thing you did not order, which is a constant, low scan of the horizon. Are they still here. Did that tone mean something. Is this the part where it turns.

It feels like not quite letting yourself land. You are present, you are in it, and there is still a small part of you standing slightly to the side watching the whole thing, waiting for the data to change. People who have not felt this describe it as distrust. It is not distrust. You would be grateful to distrust this person — that would at least be simple. It is something more disorienting than that.
